In the heart of Petone, cycled is a bike servicing studio where the focus is on servicing and repairs. I’ve spent 30+ years wrenching on bikes — from the Petone Bluebird Cycles shop in the ’90s to a career as a professional mechanic. — and that’s the expertise behind every tune-up, overhaul, and detailed job. Over 30 years of experience with professional certifications from Shimano and SRAM. No upsells, no guesswork, just honest bike repair from someone who still loves the craft.
Just like you, I’m a bike rider, weather that’s riding to the gym, the supermarket, making a lap out of our local Hutt river / Petone cycle paths, Korokoro stream or a blast around Wainui trail park.
I opened cycled in 2019, mainly as a very solid, what they call “side hustle” operating from various locations around Petone including a converted shipping container over lock downs, alongside my more corporate roles in the logistics industry.
With demand ever increasing from you lovely customers and my itch to work full time in my passion and purpose, in October 2025 I went full time on cycled in the current location at Kensington Ave, Petone.
Part of my mission is to create more bike riders and bike journeys by helping people get out on bikes, sport or activity. Weather that’s riding to work once or twice a week on the Te Ara Tupua path, local laps around the beautiful Hutt river / Petone foreshore trails or exploring further around to the lighthouse or Rimutaka Incline. I hope my bike services and bike sales create many new bike journeys.

Completed several Shimano certification courses, completed Sram Technical University in Colorado Springs, completed Bosch e-Bike dealer course and completed Trek university including the e-Bike TQ brand training.
